The Gendering Adolescent AIDS Prevention (GAAP) project at the University of Toronto is a collaboration between researchers, students, and community members across fields, universities, and countries united in the pursuit of community-based sexual health research. GAAP brings together youth, community based service providers, policy makers, students, and researchers on projects that use arts-based and participatory approaches to working with young people in relation to sexuality, HIV prevention and AIDS awareness. Our overall goal is the creation of innovative, gender-sensitive, and equity-based HIV and sexual health research, education, and community-university initiatives that involve youth.
